Description
Cellular Dynamics International (CDI) leverages human induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells to produce large quantities of fully functional cell types for human in vitro drug safety screening across multiple genetic background and assays. Additionally, the Company provides cardiotoxicity testing services using hERG-HEK293 cells.

This Senior Scientist/Group Leader position within the Research & Development - Process Sciences Department will contribute to our ongoing efforts to generate multiple, terminally differentiated cell types from iPS cells.

Skills and responsibilities:

~Organize and lead a group of Scientists in efforts to develop differentiation methods for cell differentiation from induced pluripotent stem cells.
~Culture, differentiate, and characterize stem cells.
~Define project goals, experimental design to achieve project goals, and organize and communicate experimental results.

Qualifications:

~Ph.D. in related field, with at least 5 years post-doctoral experience, preferably in an industrial setting.
~2 years prior experience managing a team of Scientists.
~Excellent cell culture and molecular biology background.
~hES or iPS cell culture experience, with experience differentiating stem cells into terminally differentiated cells.
~Applicants should possess initiative, the ability to multi-task, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a desire to acquire new technical skills.
~Project planning and experience operating in a team-based multidisciplinary environment is desirable.
