Description

Cellular Dynamics International (CDI) is recruiting for a Scientist. This Scientist position will design and perform experiments involving stem cell research both in vitro and in vivo.  Extensive experience in molecular biology and cell culture is required.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
1.  Design and construct molecular biology tools, e.g. gene expression vector construction.
2.  Genetic manipulation of stem cells such as human embryonic stem (ES) cells and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells.
3.  Differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells into desired somatic cell types such as blood cells.
4.  Performing antibody-based assays, including immunostaining, FACS and ELISA, cell isolations by MACS and FACS.
5.  Performing RNA isolation, PCR analysis and related techniques.
6.  Maintain data and records, and other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
•  Ph.D degree in developmental biology, stem cell biology, molecular biology, or related fields.
•  No more than 3 years of postdoctoral experience.
•  Previous experience in molecular techniques is required.
•  Previous experience in culture of human ES cells and iPS cells is preferred.
•  Previous experience in differentiation of human ES cells and iPS cells into blood cells and endodermal cells is a big plus.
•  Must have experience in handling mice.
•  The ideal candidate will have superior written and verbal communication skill as well as the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
•  Helpful and friendly attitude.
